1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. R.A.C.E. uses them for three things only: keeping you signed in, remembering a preference you set, and crediting the Street Team member who referred you. We do not use cookies to track you, and we do not use them for advertising.

2. Cookies We Set

This is the complete list of cookies R.A.C.E. sets itself. Cookies set by other companies are in section 4.

Essential cookies

Required for the platform to function. These cannot be disabled.

  • Session / authentication — keeps you signed in across pages and visits. Set when you sign in.
  • CSRF protection — prevents cross-site request forgery attacks on sign-in and account actions.

Preference cookies

  • Language (race-lang) — remembers the language you picked so you don't have to set it each visit. Set only when you choose a language, and kept for one year.

Referral cookie

  • Referral attribution (race_ref) — set when you arrive through a R.A.C.E. Street Team referral link, so that if you create an account we can credit the member who referred you. It records the referral code only, is kept for 30 days, and is not readable by scripts on the page.

Analytics

R.A.C.E. does not set analytics cookies. We record aggregate page and feature usage on our own servers, without a cookie and without a third-party analytics provider.

3. Other Storage On Your Device

Some features store small amounts of data in your browser's local or session storage rather than in a cookie. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us:

  • Unsaved drafts of entries and posts, so you don't lose work.
  • Which one-off hints and panels you have dismissed or collapsed.
  • Your recent parts searches and selected vehicle, to save re-entering them.
  • An approximate area you have chosen for "near me" browsing.

Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it.

4. Third-Party Cookies

  • Stripe — may set cookies during payment flows for fraud prevention.
  • Authentication providers — Google, Discord, or other OAuth providers may set cookies during sign-in.
  • R.A.C.E. does not use third-party advertising cookies, and does not use a third-party analytics provider.

5. Managing Cookies

Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using core platform features. For more information on managing cookies, visit your browser's help documentation.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this cookie policy as the platform evolves. Significant changes will be announced on the platform.
