Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 22, 2026
1. Overview
R.A.C.E. (“Race Anything, Challenge Everyone”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to all users of the R.A.C.E. platform at race.social.
The platform is operated by RACE.SOCIAL LLC, which is the entity responsible for the personal data described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details — name, email address, display name, and date of birth when you sign up. Date of birth is required so we can enforce the 18+ eligibility rule; we store it and use it for no other purpose.
- Profile information — avatar, bio, and garage/vehicle details you choose to add.
- Contest entries — photos, descriptions, and vehicle information you submit.
- Forum posts, comments, and messages you create on the platform.
- Event check-ins — if you tap "check in" on an event page, we record that you told us you are attending that event. This is something you state, not something we measure: we do not read your device's location to record it, and it says nothing about where you are at any other time. While the event is running, other people who have also checked in to the same event can see that you are there; organisers of that event can see it too. Nobody else can, and the list stops being visible to everyone the moment the event ends. You can check out again at any time.
- Contact form submissions and support requests.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser information (user agent, screen size, operating system).
- IP address and approximate location (country/region level) derived from it.
- Pages visited, features used, and timestamps of activity.
- Cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
Information collected by the mobile app
The R.A.C.E. mobile app asks your device for the following. Each is requested only when you use the feature that needs it, each can be declined in your device settings, and declining does not prevent you from using the rest of the app.
- Device location — when you use location features such as "Near Me", the app reads your device's location to find nearby shows, shops, and events. This is more precise than the country/region estimate above. It is read only while the app is open — we do not collect location in the background — and you can search by city instead.
- Camera and photo library — so you can take or choose entry photos and save share cards. We receive only the images you actually select or capture, not your library.
- Push notification token — an anonymous identifier your device's operating system issues so we can deliver notifications you have enabled. It is deleted when you delete your account.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and maintain the platform — accounts, contests, voting, and shops.
- To display your entries, profile, and public activity to other users.
- To send transactional emails (account verification, contest updates, award notifications).
- To detect and prevent fraud, vote manipulation, and abuse.
- To improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns.
- To respond to support requests and contact form messages.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:
- Service providers — hosting (Contabo), content delivery and DNS (Cloudflare), email delivery (Brevo), payment processing (Stripe), and image storage providers that help us operate the platform.
- Automated image tagging — every photo you upload with an entry is sent to OpenAI to generate descriptive tags and a photo-quality score, which we store with that entry. This happens for every entry image, not only the cover photo, and it is not something you can turn off while entering. We send the image itself; we do not send your name, email address, or other account details with it.
- Automated image moderation — separately, when automated moderation is enabled for the platform, an entry’s cover photo may be sent to OpenAI to help assess whether it complies with our content rules. We send the image itself; we do not send your name, email address, or other account details with it.
- Legal obligations — when required by law, subpoena, or court order.
- Safety — to protect the rights, safety, or property of R.A.C.E., our users, or the public.
- With your consent — when you explicitly agree to share information with a third party.
5. Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
- Deleted content (entries, posts) is moved to trash and permanently purged after 30 days.
- Event check-in records stop being visible to anyone as soon as the event ends, and are deleted 24 hours after that.
- IP addresses and device/browser identifiers collected with a vote are kept only as long as needed to detect and investigate vote abuse, and are removed or replaced with a non-reversible token once that need ends. They are deleted when you delete your account.
- If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for analytics.
- We may retain data longer if required by law or to resolve disputes.
6. Your Rights
- Access — you can view your profile, entries, and account details in your account dashboard at any time, and you can request a copy of the data we hold about you by contacting us at the address below.
- Correction — you can update your profile and account details at any time.
- Deletion — you can delete your account and request removal of your data.
- Opt-out — you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Transactional emails (password resets, contest results) cannot be opted out of.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to [email protected].
8. Children's Privacy
R.A.C.E. is an 18+ platform. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, which is why we ask for your date of birth at sign-up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced on the platform. Continued use of R.A.C.E. after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
